Immune System and Disease (chap. 40)


Introduction:  When we are healthy our thoughts seldom dwell on what it's like to be sick. But the first sneeze or beginning of a sore throat reminds us that health is not automatic in our lives.

Sometimes we wonder why we get sick or what can we do to get better. If we happen to get a disease that is long term or even life threatening, we begin to wonder even more. 

As we learn more about sickness and disease producing bacteria, viruses and other pathogens, our awareness of the environment and how we interact with it becomes even more important.

Watch the following videos and write a summary of each one. After that, continue by defining the vocabulary terms below and the following quiz.
